Kathleen Trapani, Executive Director |
Kathleen Trapani comes to the DADSC with a breadth of knowledge in sales and medical management, with more than 18 years' experience in the corporate world. Her experience ranges from administrative, sales, and management aspects, and has landed her many accolades in her career. Additionally, she was an integral player in the opening of a successful start-up medical center. This experience and expertise position her perfectly for the growing needs of the DADSC.
Kathleen has a 3 year old nephew that has Down syndrome. Since birth, her nephew has changed her life in a positive way. Those positive changes included leaving the corporate world and making the transition to the non-profit world.
Kathleen has been involved for the past 20 years fundraising for Denver non-profit organizations as well as has been the co-chair for a charity golf tournament. Kathleen’s zeal to improve the quality of life for people with Down syndrome is both contagious and refreshing.

Barry Martin, MD, Medical Director |
Barry
Martin, MD, is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He has more than
14 years' experience providing primary health care for adults with
disabilities, especially developmental disabilities. He is a board
member of the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry.
Dr. Martin
is a member of the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental
Disabilities and past co-chair of the Health and Wellness Action Group.
He is also a member of the National Down Syndrome Congress and the
American Association on Health and Disability. In addition, Dr. Martin
is the Vice President of Clinical Affairs at Metro Community Provider
Network, and an Associate Clinical Professor of Family Practice at
the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center.

Carolyn
Ajie, LCSW |
Carolyn
Ajie, LCSW, is an experienced therapist and advocate for individuals
and families facing concerns about disabilities, learning delays and
exceptional learning abilities.
In addition
to developing and teaching the ALIVE! series of classes, Carolyn
serves as the Children's Division Director for Roundup Fellowship,
and was the clinical social worker for the Denver Adult Down Syndrome
Clinic. In summer she works at Adams Camp, continuing the development
of the Leadership program for young adults with disabilities.
Carolyn's
psychotherapy practice includes adolescents, individuals, couples and

Scott Quicke, MA LPC |
Scott Quicke, MA LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in counseling and education of people with intellectual disabilities. Scott has worked with people with intellectual disabilities since 1994, and has had a private practice as a psychotherapist since 1999. He has led many groups and classes on a variety of topics including social skills, relationships and sexuality, and anger management. He also facilitates trainings for staff on many topics related to mental health issues in people with intellectual disabilities.
Scott has
a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Northern
Colorado, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University
of Missouri. He is on the Human Rights Committee for Adams County,
and is a member of the National Association for Dual Diagnosis. |
